we geared up for our eight hour drive and made our way South, and then West toward the mountains

when we got there, UNC football was on the television, and we busted out the Lego's
so Will and Uncle Tyler could get acquainted, also some grandpa snuggles

we took a tour around the yard, and Will got to pick peppers right off the plant for dinner

after we got a cooking lesson, and Will got to watch the pepper he picked get
chopped up and incorporated into the dinner, we enjoyed a delicious meal of beef
roast with a sauce, potato pancakes with chive sour cream, broccoli, and tomato and
fresh basil salad - all homemade and perfect!

we woke up the next morning to homemade oatmeal and fresh coffee in a mug I picked
out for my daddy many, many years ago for fathers day

after breakfast, we headed out on a walk with grandpa (my daddy) and the black lab, Keegan

we drove up the mountain to Hendersonville (my official hometown) for the North
Carolina Apple Festival, but when the rain started we found ourselves hanging out at
a Thai restaurant waiting for the storm to pass, the Thai iced coffee was delicious

when the skies cleared we headed out on the street for some fresh lemonade, kiddie rides
with my cousin and her children with VIP passes, fresh apple juice in fun apple bottles,
found a cool handmade piggie bank for Will (not pictured), and, of course, apples

after all that excitement, we settled into our seats on the lawn at the historic
courthouse for live music entertainment and family catching up time

Will bonded with his Gigi (my Grammie) and cousin Rebekah (my cousin Lelia's oldest daughter),
he danced and clapped and bounced to the music putting on a show for everyone

while everyone went off in search of dinner, Will spent some time with my
aunt Dee, and she showed him Elvis up on the stage and he even repeated "Elvis" to
her at least once - we were shocked with how many words he picked up on vacation,
just being introduced to new things and new surroundings, amazing!

we enjoyed some apple turnovers and Will danced and danced some more
